It is now only a few days until the new death certification and medical examiner system becomes statutory in England and Wales. In light of recent communications from the Ministry of Justice, we have updated our previously circulated Guidance Note on what the changes mean for burial and cremation. ICCM Officers will be on stand-by from 9th September when the changes take effect to help any members who may be struggling with the new system or have any questions about it. We would also be very interested to hear your views on how it is going, and if there are any particular concerns, so please email enquiries@iccm-uk.com as and when you have any comments to make. The ICCM will be collating members’ questions, concerns and other feedback and will report these to the Ministry of Justice on a regular basis.
